Frequently Asked Questions

Asking questions is the first way to begin change.

- Kubra Sait

 We love answering questions!

Below, we’ve included a selection of the most frequent asks around the Pathways office. We aim to give you answers to as many as possible so you feel empowered from our very first meeting.

Ensuring your comfort is just as important to us as valuing your curiosity so never hesitate to reach out by phone or email if there’s something you’d like to know. From information about our services to our favorite playlist, we’re happy to chat with you.

Are you a therapist or a wellness spa?

At Pathways Within, our focus is always on creating the space for you to thrive, inside and out. Each person who comes through our door, whether it’s for an hour or an ongoing relationship, matters to us. These relationships rooted in therapy are as unique as each person is. By partnering with Pathways to Beauty—our wellness spa partner—to meet a variety of healing and wellness needs, we hope to create a space where your holistic health becomes an integrated part of your physical and mental wellness.

THE QUESTIONS BELOW ARE SPECIFIC TO OUR MENTAL WELLNESS AND THERAPY SERVICES.

Do you have evening appointments?

We do offer appointments outside regular business hours! With advance scheduling, we can accommodate schedules of every kind. Our appointments can be offered up to 11 pm with select clinicians.

Do you offer virtual visits?

We do offer virtual visits! Called telehealth, our therapy services can be offered in any format you feel most comfortable with. Whether that means you meet with your therapist every time through our virtual platform or you switch it up between telehealth and in-person visits, we are happy to work with you to meet all your needs.

How do those work?

Before your first visit, we’ll send you a link to get you all set up. During this onboarding process, you’ll have the chance to get familiar with our platform, SimplePractice.

Is virtual therapy private?

Absolutely! SimplePractice is both HIPAA compliant as well as VeriSign security sealed. Your privacy is crucial to us, and we take every step to ensure confidentiality in every format.

How often we will meet?

At the beginning, we will meet once a week, more often if it is deemed therapeutically necessary, for as long as our therapeutic relationship feels beneficial to you.

The work you’re doing may grow or change, and the schedule you need may vary, so we will remain flexible and responsive to the way your growth needs change throughout our relationship.

How long do sessions last?

Each session will be one full hour. This is your hour and we are committed to showing up wholly to support the work you’re so bravely doing.

In exchange, we ask that you commit to your scheduled time each week, (it will always be the same day and time) to optimize the time spent with your clinician.

Do you take insurance?

We are in-network for most major insurance providers in New York. Once we’ve confirmed your benefits, we can create a therapeutic plan with respect to your benefits and limitations.

If your insurance does not cover your treatment or you are otherwise self-pay, we may be able to offer a sliding scale plan. Please reach out to our admissions coordinator to confirm these options.

For your convenience, we accept cash, major credit cards and HSA or FSA funds.
